What is the venue fee?

Does Casa Blanca Interlaken offer overnight accommodations ?

Contracting clients can elect to stay overnight the night before, and/or of, their event.  The guest house accommodates a maximum of two persons and is limited to the contracting client for an additional fee of $1,200.00 (per night) plus transient occupancy tax of 11% as established by Santa Cruz County. 

The venue fee starts at $30,000.00.  To receive the most accurate quote, please include the event date(s), approximate guest count, and any relevant specifications unique to you or your client's needs.

What does the venue fee include?

For single day productions, the venue fee includes exclusive use of the property from 8:00 am to 12:00 am.  This includes all exterior spaces of the main residence (loggias, courtyard, olive bluff, olive grove, ceremony main, minmony, etc.), the interior of the guest house for the contracting client, & a preparatory kitchen (for catering company).  For single day weddings, a two-hour rehearsal timeslot the day preceding the event is included.

 

Depending on the design of an event and unique requirements of vendors and clients, productions requiring multi-day build-build outs can be negotiated.

Also included in the venue fee is event security, a golf cart(s) for vendor use, and one or two portable trailer restrooms (depending on the size and configuration of your event)

What are client's responsibilities?

The client is responsible for contracting all vendors required to produce their event.  This includes catering, rentals (reception tables/chairs/lounge furniture, etc.) florals, shuttle, etc.

Client's must obtain general liability insurance in the amount of $1,000,000.00 each occurrence and $2,00,000.00 aggregate.

Does Casa Blanca Interlaken have a preferred vendor list?

 

Casa Blanca Interlaken does have a preferred vendor list.  Our preferred vendor list has been developed to include reputable industry professionals who excel in producing seamless events and have a demonstrable ethos characterized by ethical and accountable business practices, clear, economic, and succinct communications, and joie de vivre.​ Vendors not included in our preferred network must be pre-approved in writing by the Casa Blanca Interlaken management team.

How do I know which vendor is right for me?

Selecting the right team to produce your event is paramount.   The most important component of event production is the planner.  As such, when conceptualizing your event and identifying your vendor team, the best approach is to talk to them, assess their portfolios/galleries (whatever is relevant), credentials, and other relevant information fundamental to successful production in their domain.     

 

Our vendor list includes professionals that will make your event easy.  At the end of the day, vendors and clients are still people, and what matters most is that the client is happy, and, with that said, good rapport with your vendor team will heavily influence your perception of the "success " (or not) of an event.

Can I contract vendors outside of the preferred vendor network?

Yes.  Our preferred vendor network is not exhaustive.  We recognize that there are many talented industry professionals and we are happy to make new connections.

Do vendors need to be licensed and have insurance?

All vendors must be licensed as necessary and have general liability insurance.

Those venders contracted outside of Casa Blanca Interlaken’s preferred vendor list must be licensed as necessary and have general liability insurance. 

 

Certificates of insurance for such vendors must be provided to Casa Blanca Interlaken not less than 30 days prior to the event.  If alcohol is to be served there must be Host Liquor Liability and a certificate of insurance must be provided a minimum of 14 days before the event

 

Event cancellation insurance is recommended.

Is a shuttle service required or is there on-site parking?

On-site parking is restricted to vendor and contracting client vehicles only.  All guests are required to be shuttled to and from the premises.  A copy of the shuttle service contract must be provided to Casa Blanca Interlaken a minimum of 7 days before the event.   Uber and similar services are not suitable substitutes for a shuttle service and are prohibited.

What time can vendors and guests access the property?

For single day wedding contracts, vendors and the wedding party have access to the property at 8 am.  Guest arrival time is approximately 3:00 pm (subject to time of year and production schedule) and guest departure is 10:00 pm. 

Is there a designated rehearsal time?

The day preceding a single-day wedding contract the client has access to the estate for a two-hour rehearsal time-slot.

Is there a noise ordiance?

 

Pursuant with Santa Cruz County code 9.36.010 Curfew - Offensive Noise, all amplified music must conclude by 10:00 pm.  Noise level may not exceed 75 dB at property boundaries at any time.

How is alcohol served/controlled at Casa Blanca Interlaken?

 

All alcohol is to be provided and served by a licensed and insured caterer or bartending company.  Casa Blanca Interlaken is not responsible for the monitoring of alcohol by the client and their guests.  No alcohol is to be served to anyone under the age of 21. 

Is smoking permitted on the property?

No.  Smoking and vaping of any kind are not allowed anywhere on the premises.

Are animals allowed on the property?

Only pets that are to be included in the wedding party photos are allowed on the premises and must have a designated handler for the duration of the event. 

 

Any other animal that is to be included in the event production (a horse drawn carriage, etc.) must be approved by Casa Blanca Interlaken 30 days in advance and provided and controlled by a licensed and insured vendor as necessary.

Is a full-service wedding planner required?

 Yes.  A professional full-service (comprehensive) wedding or event planner is required to contract Casa Blanca Interlaken.

What type of facilities do caterers have access to?

 

Caterers have access to Casa Blanca Interlaken’s commercial kitchen.  The kitchen includes a commercial refrigerator, oven, storage racks, sink, electricity, etc.   

Is childcare required at Casa Blanca Interlaken?

Yes.  Children must be supervised at all times by licensed and insured childcare professionals.

What is not included in the venue fee?

There is no interior use of the main private residence.  Only exterior use of the main residence is permitted and restricted to designated event areas.  Pool and spa use is not permitted.

What is the weather like at Casa Blanca Interlaken?

 

Interlaken, California is located 8 miles from the Pacific Ocean and is lucky to have a Mediterranean climate with hot summers and mild winters therein making it an excellent location for outdoor events. 

 

Temperature averages fluctuate between 41°F to 76°F and are rarely below 33°F or above 87°F. The warm season lasts for 4.3 months, from June 12 to October 21, with an average daily high temperature above 72°F.

 

The hottest month of the year in Interlaken is September, with an average high of 75°F and low of 54°F. In the warm season, tenting or market umbrellas are suitable options for providing protection from the elements.  

 

The cool season lasts for 2.9 months, from November 29 to February 24, with an average daily high temperature below 63°F. The coldest month of the year in Interlaken is December, with an average low of 42°F and high of 60°F.

 Casa Blanca Interlaken has various locations on the property that are well-suited for tenting if necessary.

 

Because Casa Blanca Interlaken is an outdoor venue, events should have a conditional weather plan that accounts for the potential of rain, fog, and heat.
